  The Talon class Mission Scout was seen in the movie Star Trek Insurrection when a damaged and malfunctioning LCdr Data used it against the Son'a in the Briar Patch. At 24 metres long, it is about the size of a Danube class Runabout. It utilised the cockpit set from Voyager's Type 12 "Speedboat" shuttlecraft. Swift and manœvrable, and capable of planetary landing, its capabilities are unknown, but it is armed with Phaser banks and Photon Microtorpdoes. The Scout ship was called the Venture class in the games Armada and Armada II, but since this is the name of a Galaxy class Explorer in service at the same time, it is a mistaken designation, so I have used the name Talon class from the LUG and Decipher Star Trek RPGs.  |
